Bland to beautiful!
So many mid century items get discarded as they become old and tatty. Don't throw them away though, they can be rescued and revived!
Take this oak veneered coffee table. The top was scatched, the varnish worn and one of the legs a bit wobbly. It was £10 from a local emporium and I could see its potential.
After sanding the table top back, to reveal the colour of the wood, I painted the base using Frenchic's chalk wall paint colour Black Forest. I also decided to get the frog tape out and create a double border on the top for added interest.
The black/wood combo is one of my favourites and adding the Iron Orchid Designs Astoria transfer to the top sealed the deal.
Finished with Frenchic Finishing Coat to protect and provide a satin sheen this little table is now ready for a new life and it's one less item in landfill.
What will you rescue today?
